Program Summary

This CE accredited Expert Forum Webinar examines practical strategies for optimizing contrast-enhanced CT protocols, with a focus on reducing variability and improving consistency across imaging departments.

Dr. Corey Jensen and his colleague, Leland Bautista, RT explore how standardized approaches to contrast administration and protocol design can enhance workflow efficiency, support technologists in daily practice, and maintain diagnostic confidence in today’s resource-conscious environment.

Educational Objectives

At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Describe the key factors influencing contrast enhancement and their impact on image quality.
• Apply practical strategies to optimize contrast-enhanced CT protocols and improve workflow efficiency.
• Evaluate the role of protocol standardization in reducing variability and supporting consistent imaging performance.

Faculty

Dr. Jensen completed radiology residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and a body imaging fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. While his training focused on advanced abdominal imaging techniques, he also completed additional training in musculoskeletal and cardiac imaging, achieving Level 1 certification through The Institute for Cardiovascular CT Certification.

After earning the Honorary Physicist award during residency for a 97th percentile score on the ABR board examination, he has continued interests in medical physics with a focus on protocol quality improvement.

As faculty at M.D. Anderson for 14 years, Dr. Jensen currently serves as Clinical Director of Photon-Counting CT for the Division of Diagnostic Imaging, Director of Abdominal CT Imaging, Director of Clinical Operations for Abdominal Imaging and Imaging Director of the Colorectal Multidisciplinary Conference.

His research interests are varied, but have predominantly centered around CT image quality, including software post-processing such as with A.I./deep learning and CT contrast optimization.

Leland Bautista, BS, RT(R)(CT), ARRT, is a CT Supervisor at MD Anderson Cancer Center with over seven years of radiology experience. He specializes in optimizing CT workflow, contributing to protocol development, and collaborating with faculty and multidisciplinary teams to enhance imaging quality, efficiency, and patient-centered care and staff development.

He is currently pursuing his MS in Radiologic Sciences with emphasis on Medical Imaging Informatics at UT MDA.

Radiologic Technologists:
This course meets all criteria and has been approved by the AHRA, The Association for Medical Imaging Management for One (1) ARRT Category A CE Credit.

Radiology Administrators:
This course meets all CRA renewal credit criteria and has been approved for one (1) continuing education credit in the following CRA domains: Asset Management, Operations Management and Communications and Information Management.
