Program Summary:

Tomosynthesis (3D mammography), used in conjunction with a 2D mammogram, is becoming increasingly integrated into clinical practice. The use of a synthesized mammogram (C-View), recently approved by FDA, provides the advantages of tomosynthesis without the additional radiation exposure of obtaining a 2-D image.
In this recently updated two-part webcast series, Dr. Rafferty and Dr. Belfer review the current literature in their 2015 Update to the original presentations. You will learn how synthesized 2-D imaging is used in conjunction with tomosynthesis imaging and review the recent clinical data regarding its continued performance.

Target Audience:

  • Radiologists
  • Related Imaging Professionals
This program has been supported through an unrestricted educational grant from Hologic.

Program Information:

This program was originally broadcast live, as part of a Webinar series hosted by Applied Radiology. The program was reviewed and a 25 minute update was added in October 2015.

This activity qualifies for 1.0 hour of training for the Hologic Selenia® Dimensions® 3D Mammography™ System

This program has been supported through an unrestricted educational grant from Hologic.

Learning Objectives:

After participating in this webinar you should be able to:

  1. Describe how the synthesized C-View mammogram is generated and how it should be used in conjunction with tomosynthesis imaging.
  2. Describe the relative radiation doses of conventional combination tomosynthesis imaging versus tomosynthesis imaging utiizing the synthesized C-View mammogram.
  3. Describe potential applications of C-View imaging in combination with tomosynthesis for screening and diagnostic mammography.
