Contrast Delivery Strategies in Cardiovascular Imaging
Program Summary
Modern CT scanning has become increasingly complicated with several new technologies readily available. At Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Director of CT and Chief of Cardiovascular Imaging, Dominik Fleischmann, MD utilizes a simplified approach to contrast delivery, utilizing high concentration contrast media, and intuitive physiology based injection protocols. Lior Molvin, RT(R) is a CT Technologist in charge of protocol development and optimization at Stanford Healthcare and will join Dr. Fleischmann.
Stanford Healthcare delivers exceptional image quality that’s geared towards patient safety. The injector system plays a major role; with its availability of dual head syringe to add a saline bolus, the ability to detect extravasations, and also the ability to store protocols. Less known is the ability to aggregate injection data that can be extracted and used to better understand operational procedures, identify variances, and create reports. A modern power injector is an essential component of the state-of-the art CT Suite. This Expert Forum will show the relationship between patient physiology and contrast media, as well as demonstrate a practical approach to CT imaging utilized by Stanford Healthcare.
