Episode 10: Nodules In The Cirrhotic Liver
CASE 1 FREE PREVIEW ONLY: This program is a “Pay To View” program. To view the entire episode and obtain CME credits you must first purchase the program. Once purchased links will be provided from within your “MyAR Archives” page for access to the program and the online exam to earn CME credit.
Program Summary:
In this session, Dr. Semelka demonstrates a spectrum of nodules in the cirrhotic liver. He reviews MRI features of regenerating nodules, low-grade dysplastic nodules, high-grade dysplastic nodules, small hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs), and classic appearances of HCC. He also illustrated a case of remarkably extensive multifocal HCC and diffuse HCC. Discussion is made of differences between diffused HCC and multifocal HCC.
Case 1: Diffused Hepatocellular Carcinoma. An impressive case of diffuse HCC. (FREE Preview Provided)
Case 2: Regenerative Nodule. TA regenerative nodule, which is the least aggressive nodule in a cirrhotic liver.
Case 3: Regenerative Nodule. Another example of a standard regenerative nodule.
Case 4: Displastic Nodule. MRI features of dysplastic nodules.
Case 5: Low Grade Dysplastic Nodule. MRI features of low-grade dysplastic nodule.
Case 6: AV Shunt. AV shunt or a focal hyperperfusion abnormality, which is commonly seen in cirrhotic livers and sometimes is difficult to differentiate from a dysplastic nodule.
Case 7: High Grade Dysplastic Nodule. MRI features of a high-grade dysplastic nodule.
Case 8: Small Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Small HCC, less than 1 cm in diameter.
Case 9: Small Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Classic and the most specific appearances of a small HCC.
Case 10: Multifocal Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Extensive multifocal HCC.
Approximate Episode Run Time: 58 Minutes
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity participants will have a better understanding of the following:
• How to construct an MR protocol to fit the patient and clinical questions
• Which MR imaging tools can benefit your review of MRI cases
• Circumstances that can help or hinder your review
• Making the final diagnosis
Claiming CE Credit:
To receive CME credits for participating in this activity you must view the program, successfully complete the online post examination and the following evaluation. Online examinations return an immediate grade report. Upon receiving a passing grade of 70% or higher, a letter of credit will be available for printing and indefinitely available in your “MyAR” Archives.
